02Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the website and application to work and to keep them secure. They handle sign-in, protect forms against cross-site request forgery, remember your cookie choices and route traffic through our security network. They cannot be switched off in our consent tool, although you can block them in your browser, in which case parts of the site will not function.
Functional
These cookies remember choices you make to give you a more convenient experience, such as your preferred data residency region on the pricing page or the currency in the leakage calculator. If you decline them, those preferences will reset on each visit.
Analytics
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website and how the application performs, for example which pages load slowly or where a sign-up form is abandoned. We use the results in aggregate to improve our pages. Analytics in the web application is limited to performance measurement and does not record receipt content or expense data.
Marketing
These cookies measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on professional networks and search engines, for example whether a visitor who clicked an advertisement later started a free trial. We do not use them on pages inside the web application, and we never use them on pages that display expense data.
04Consent management
How we ask for your consent depends on where you are:
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: only strictly necessary cookies are set until you make a choice. Functional, analytics and marketing cookies are set only if you opt in through our banner, and rejecting them is as easy as accepting them.
- United States: functional and analytics cookies are enabled by default, and you can opt out of analytics and marketing cookies at any time. Where state law treats advertising cookies as a sale or sharing of personal information, the "Your privacy choices" link in our footer lets you opt out.
- India: we request consent for non-essential cookies in clear, plain language consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and you can withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it.
- Rest of the world: we apply the opt-in approach used in the EEA unless local law requires otherwise.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of marketing cookies for that browser, wherever you are located. Our consent banner will show that the signal has been honored.
05How to change your preferences
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page on our website. Changes take effect immediately, and cookies from categories you switch off are deleted where technically possible. Your choices are stored in the pg_consent cookie, so if you clear your cookies or use a different browser, you will be asked again.
06Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to the web application. Guidance is available from each browser vendor:
- Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices page, or the advertising settings in your LinkedIn and Google accounts.
07Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track (DNT) setting. Because there is no agreed industry standard for responding to DNT signals, our website does not change its behaviour when it receives one. We do, however, honor Global Privacy Control signals as described above, which provide a recognized legal mechanism for opting out.
08Updates to this policy
We will update this policy when we change the cookies we use or how we use them. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If a change requires new consent, our banner will ask you again on your next visit.
