How Phyto Nex AI works with Microsoft Teams
Teams-first companies get the same experience as Slack: a 1:1 message from the Phyto Nex AI bot, rendered as an Adaptive Card with the flagged line item, the handbook clause, and action buttons. Universal Actions refresh the card in place after the employee responds, so the thread shows Resolved instead of piling up follow-ups.
A Microsoft 365 global admin or privileged role admin grants tenant-wide consent to the Phyto Nex AI app registration. The bot can only message users it is installed for, and it cannot read chats, channels, mail, or files. User.Read.All is used to match directory users to expense submitters by work email.
If your organization restricts third-party Teams apps, an admin can allow Phyto Nex AI by app ID in the Teams admin center and assign it to the finance-relevant user groups through an app setup policy. Many customers roll it out to sales and field teams first, where expense volume is highest.
Every action is logged with the Entra object ID of the user who clicked, giving auditors a non-repudiable trail that the employee, not someone else, acknowledged a personal charge.
Adaptive Cards are rendered with the Teams host theme, so messages look native in light, dark and high-contrast modes and on the Teams mobile apps where most field employees respond. The card shows the flagged line item, the clause, and up to four action buttons. Receipt uploads open a task module that accepts a photo straight from the phone camera. Because Universal Actions refresh the card for everyone who can see it, a delegate or executive assistant handling expenses for a leader sees the same up-to-date state without a second message being sent.
